

At our community museum you can see interesting exhibitions and displays, including:
Over 300 photographs and artifacts are available to view on-line. Research using the archives and reference library. Browse through a selection of archival photographs, or request a search for specific images from our photographic collection. Research from news clipping files, biographical files, and textual records. We have an excellent collection of books on First Nations people of the Northwest Coast, historical topics and the geology, flora, fauna and sea life of the area.
Visit our Gift Shop! Nature-image and Haisla design cotton T and sweat shirts in an assortment of adult and children's sizes and colours. Fleece vests and jackets. Books for children and adults on nature, hiking, history and First Nations Northwest Coast arts, technology and culture. Glassware with Northwest Coast designs. Jewelry and carvings created by Haisla artists. Cards, paintings, prints, jewelry and crafts created by local artists. Ceramic, pewter and aluminum gifts.
Add to your experience! During your summer visit, take a tour of industry by visiting Alcan Primary Metal. British Columbia, Eurocan Pulp & Paper and Methanex Corporation. Your visit could also include a trip to the Fish Hatchery on Kitimat River, the Museum's walking tour of Kitimat's neighbourhoods, or a drive along the Douglas Channel towards Kitamaat Village.
For sports and shopping, the Museum is conveniently located downtown next to shopping centres and recreation facilities.
Learn about Kitimat ...the people, the history and the natural setting. Come learn about the three settlements of the area - the Haisla Nation at Kitamaat Village, the European presence of the 1870s to the 1930s, and the construction of the town of Kitimat in the 1950s. Experience the diversity of this community of cultures, its industrial economy and its unique geographic location.
