The neighbouring communities of Stewart, BC and Hyder, Alaska are nestled at the head of the Portland Canal, a 90 mile long ocean fjord which forms a natural boundary between Canada and Alaska. Stewart is Canada’s most northerly ice-free, deep-sea port and is set against towering peaks with hundreds of scenic waterfalls. The 67 kms of paved highway links Stewart with Hwy 37, traveling past the spectacular mountains and hanging glaciers of the Bear Pass. • Catch  a bus tour up to the Salmon Glacier, Canada’s largest glacier accessible by road

• Visit the Stewart Historical Museum located in the old Stewart Firehall (c. 1926) where you can experience the glory days of mining & the many movies the have been filmed in the area.
• Take the heritage walking tour that lets you view the historical homes & buildings of Stewart
• Stewart/Hyder International Rodeo. A BC sanctioned rodeo, held yearly on the second weekend of June.
