About Dawson Creek…
The community’s roots are historical by nature, springing to life by the action of World War II. Dawson Creek, Mile ‘0’ of the Alaska Highway is known around the world as the 16th civil engineering marvel. For over sixty years, the famed Alaska Highway has been a significant draw for visitors and residents alike.

Before you head out on your great adventure, spend time with the people of Dawson Creek (population 11,000). Then start your journey at the Northern Alberta Railways Park situated in the heart of the community. Residing on these four acres are the Station Museum, the Dawson Creek Art Gallery, and the Mile Zero Cairn. Dawson Creek is more than just Mile ‘0’.

Today, Dawson Creek and surrounding area host some of the best golfing in Northeastern BC. Choose from family-friendly mini golf to challenging 9 or 18-hole courses. Dawson Creek is the natural choice for an unforgettable freshwater fishing experience. Dawson Creek is located in the foothills of Northeastern BC surrounded by many lakes, rivers, & streams, Dawson Creek is a great point to start and end your day.

Traditionally this is an agriculture community. Each August Dawson Creek relives its agricultural history with the modern yet personable annual Fall Fair Pro Rodeo, Exhibition & Stampede. This is the largest event of its kind in Northern British Columbia and Northern Alberta. This is an experience of a lifetime and is not to be missed.
